The first free practices of Moto2-class at the Italian GP were run on Friday on the highly regarded track of Mugello. FP1 and FP2 marked a season premiere for Kallio's 2014 replica bike, which was now out on track for the first time after the tough decision to change the chassis was made in Le Mans. The opening day in Mugello did not yet provide desired results for Kallio and his team, since his position in the combined times of Friday was 24. with a rough two-second gap to the fastest rider of the day. Kallio and his team are now feverishly working to find out the reason for the problems and he preferred not to further comment on the events of today, but to focus instead on establishing the best possible set-up for tomorrow's qualifying.
